The MAN

“I have a good news Lizzy” said Kendra. “What”? Asked Lizzy suspiciously.

“Do you remember about the place I told you about? The haunted one? Guess what? You and I are going today!’ told Kendra excitedly.

“I don’t know” said Lizzy in a shaky voice.

“Come on your not scared, Are you?” said Kendra. “No, but it sounds dangerous”.

“Please!!” said Kendra.

“Fine” sighed Lizzy.

”Yes!!!!”said Kendra.’ Are you hungry”? asked Kendra.”

“No” told Lizzy casually.

Suddenly they heard Tessie barking loudly. Tessie was Kendra’s dog.

“Tessie! What’s wrong?” said Kendra in a soothing voice.

Tessie growled and snarled at what seemed to be a man.

As both of the girls got out of the house, they both gasped. There, out the house stood an old man with shabby cloths, red stains. Blood! Kendra thought with panic. The man had a very creepy smile.

“Who are you?” stammered Kendra. The man didn’t reply.

“Well!’ said Lizzy.  “Where do you live?”

 The man pointed at the old abandoned wrecked house with a smile. The girls froze. It was that house where the girls were planning to go tonight.

 “I don’t like this Kendra, I think we should go” told Lizzy.

“Me too” told Kendra.

 Kendra and Lizzy slowly started to back up, the man too started to come closer and closer to them!

“Run” screamed Lizzy.

 Kendra and Lizzy ran as quickly as they could.

Kendra couldn’t help but look back, she screamed. The man had a bloody knife. They quickly went inside and closed the door. They quickly looked out the window.

But the man was gone.

“Now what?” asked Lizzy in hushed voice .

“We call mom” told Kendra.

“Ok” told Lizzy.

 Phone ringing ……… “Hello?” Mrs. Hawk said in a busy voice.

“Hey mom, I have got something to tell you, please listen to me if you’re not too busy in the hospital” told Kendra in a scared voice.

“No, I’m not but tell me quickly, ok?”

They told the whole story to Mrs. Hawk. “I don’t understand” Mrs. Hawk asked confusingly.

 “What’s wrong mum?” asked Kendra fearfully.

“The house you are talking about, I believe, it was owned by a man named Bruce Martin” told Mrs. Hawk.

“How do you know this?” asked Kendra.”

“When we bought this house, the land owner told us, the man who lived across the street suddenly went missing, it was also said he died a mysteries death” told Mrs. Hawk. “And afterwards his house came to be haunted.

“But we saw a man few minutes ago, mum!” told Kendra in a scared voice.

“It must have been your imagination, look, I am coming home, ok?”

 “Ok. Bye mom.” Kendra sighed.

 Tap, tap, tap, suddenly the sound was coming from the window.

 Lizzy screamed “It’s the man, call the cops”.

 Kendra dialed 911 quickly and told the officers every detail of what happened.

Shortly Kendra’s mom came but the police found nothing. But the police found Tessie dead in the backyard. Kendra cried and cried it must have been the man! Kendra and Lizzy wanted to know what was going on. They wanted revenge, they wanted to know why the man killed Tessie and not them. They had to know. So they decided to go the house. But this time they were going to be fully prepared.

“Are you sure you really want to this?” asked Lizzy.

“Of course I want to do this, a random creepy man comes out of nowhere and kills my dog and lives in an abandoned house, why shouldn’t I be doing this!” screamed Kendra.

 “Ok” sighed Lizzy. “Did you ask Mrs. Hawk if we can go or not?” asked lizzy quietly.

 “No, She has night shift today so she doesn’t know where we are going” told Kendra.

 “Are we ready to go?” told lizzy.”

Why are you not taking anything?” Asked Kendra.

“Well we know that the man is a ghost, am I correct?”

“Yes” told Kendra.

 “If I recite the Aytulkursi on the ghost, nothing can happen to us”.

“What is the Aytulkursi?” asked Kendra curiously.

 Lizzy told Kendra what the Aytulkursi mean. “Are you sure this is going to work?” asked Kendra.

“Listen, you just got to trust me on this, Ok?” told Lizzy.

 “Ok” answered Kendra.

 “Come on lets go” told Lizzy.

 The girls went to the abandoned house and were right in front of the door. Kendra opened the old shabby door and gasped when they saw the man was waiting for them with a bloody knife and with an evil smile. He started to get closer and closer to them.

Then Lizzy started to recite some weird words loudly, the Aytulkursi! It was working!Kendra could see the man vanishing. “We did it!” Kendra said smilingly. “Told you it would work!” said Lizzy by giving a high five to Kendra. 

The girls went home and they thought about the spiritual world and thought about what they faced. Kendra and Lizzy are still friends and always think about what had happened to them years ago.
